Meister Forest Products Fire Restoration

Project Scope: New office and sawmill
Location: Endeavor, Wisconsin
Designer: Mente Engineering

Meister Forest Products built their first plant in 1992 just off Interstate 39 in Endeavor, Wisconsin. In 1997, a fire destroyed the entire mill. Within months, they were back in operation and continuing to serve the wood pallet market. Then amazingly, in 2010 the mill was destroyed by its second fire in less than 15 years.

After debating whether or not to rebuild, they ultimately decided to reconstruct the building, and with the help of Friede & Associates they created a building they hope will serve them well for decades to come. The 20,000 square foot pre-engineered building features an enhanced mechanical system which allows Meister Forest Products to operate virtually dust free. The building also includes a simple saver insulation system for energy efficiency.
