Vintage Brewing Company
Project Scope: New microbrewery, restaurant, and conference center
Location: Sauk City, Wisconsin
Designer: Ramaker Architecture + Engineering
Vintage Brewing Company has once again set the precedent for the Wisconsin craft brewing scene with its newest Sauk City location. This 26,000-square-foot facility offers panoramic views of the Wisconsin River, a seasonal outdoor beer garden, 40 tap lines in the main bar, and a beautiful 250-person wedding and banquet area.
This award-winning design-build project challenged Friede & Associates and designers at Ramaker Architecture + Engineering to build a fully functional microbrewery between two open businesses with high traffic and to complete it on a tight schedule to accommodate pre-booked wedding receptions. In addition, Friede crews were forced to mitigate the threat of potential flooding from the adjacent Wisconsin River due to heavy rain during construction.
Since its opening, Sauk City has seen an uptick in downtown businesses that offer plenty of local eating and drinking options. Many of these customers come from Madison, Wisconsin Dells, and other surrounding locations. With no real banquet facilities between Madison and the Dells, Vintage is in a prime position to fill the void and become a local staple and overwhelming success.
This project was recognized by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Wisconsin as a 2018 Gold Project of Distinction.
