Our Next Project: Building A Bigger Trophy Case

Jay's Power Center | Reedsburg, Wisconsin | Friede & Associates

If you follow our blog, you know that we enjoy highlighting our recent projects and the work we have done throughout Wisconsin. We think it is interesting for our readers to discover our clients’ stories and what goes on behind the completed buildings you see. We enjoy detailing the challenges our team faces and how we engineer solutions to overcome them; explaining the design/build delivery system and how we can meet tight schedules and budgets; and how we can take a client’s vision and turn it into a reality.

But, we are a little embarrassed as the last couple of blogs have been focused solely on Friede.

In February, Friede was awarded eight prestigious awards by the Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin—seven Projects of Distinction Gold Awards and The Merit Award, an award given to the contractor who uses the most ABC member subcontractors on their project. Most recently, we have been awarded two Design-Build Awards of Excellence by Metallic Building Company.

According to Metallic, “The winning projects represent the characteristics of an exceptional project—displaying creativity, green attributes, special features, high-level complexity, and impressive aesthetics. The projects are remarkable in their own ways and reflect Friede’s commitment to excellence.” The winners of the 2015 Metallic Design-Build Awards of Excellence are Jay’s Power Center and Nelson True Value.

Jay’s Power Center, pictured above, is a new, 9,300-square-foot Metallic pre-engineered showroom and refurbished 5,600-square-foot service center located in Reedsburg. The remodel and expansion, designed by ADCI, was completed in August 2015 for this recreational equipment sales and service dealer.

Nelson True Value | Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin | Friede & Associates

Nelson True Value’s new 24,000-square-foot retail building opened just in time for the 2015 Christmas season. Located in Prairie du Chien, this Metallic pre-engineered building features extensive timber framing at all entrances and creates a complete retail center with the addition of an exterior greenhouse, and lawn and garden center. The project, designed by Shulfer Architects, was completed by Friede in just seven months.

As a Metallic Building Company dealer, Friede is the local resource for custom-engineered metal building systems that can save time and money, provide greater durability and resistance to the elements, and are flexible enough to work within all architectural requirements.

Having won dozens of design, construction, community, and safety awards over the last few years has caused us to wonder where we are going to display all of these trophies. Wouldn’t it be ironic if our new trophy case was the next award-winning project?
