Make Room In The Trophy Case
The 2017 Associated Builders & Contractors of Wisconsin Projects of Distinction Awards Program was held on February 15, 2018, at the Glacier Canyon Lodge Conference Center in Wisconsin Dells. Friede & Associates’ team members, as well as project owners and design-build partners, were present to accept the prestigious awards.
The Projects of Distinction Awards Program is designed to recognize the most distinct construction projects in Wisconsin and to elevate the awareness of the quality construction performed by ABC member firms and their employees. Projects are judged annually on safety, craftsmanship, execution and coordination, budgeting, scheduling, unusual challenges, owner and architect satisfaction, and overall distinctiveness.
Friede & Associates is proud to have had three construction projects recognized for 2017—one Gold Award and two Silver Award winners:
Therapy Without Walls of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, pictured above, earned the Gold Award in the Restoration & Renovation category. The scope of the project included a 5,100-square-foot remodel of an existing furniture store into an office building. The renovation includes a new entry with cultured stone, new offices, therapy rooms, meditation rooms, a large break room, and a new dual-purpose conference room.
HuHot Mongolian Grill of Lake Delton, Wisconsin, pictured above, earned a Silver Award in the Commercial Project Under $2 million category. This new 5,200-square-foot stand-alone restaurant features a 1,900-pound circular grill that measures 6 feet in diameter—the centerpiece of the new interactive dining experience.
Lodi Veterinary Clinic of Lodi, Wisconsin, pictured above, earned a Silver Award in the Restoration & Renovation category. This project included adding more than 14,000 square feet to their existing building, essentially doubling the size of their clinic. The project utilized many different construction disciplines including wood framing, masonry, and precast concrete.
In addition to the three project awards, Friede was once again the recipient of the Built on Merit Award, an award given to the contractor who uses the most ABC member subcontractors on their projects. Roger Friede, President, and Scott Truehl, Executive Vice President and Partner, accepted the award on behalf of the firm.
To date, the Friede Team has been awarded 22 Projects of Distinction Awards and is a six-time winner of the Built on Merit Award. Maybe our next project should be an expansion of our trophy case! You can see a full list of all our awards on the awards page.
